loving hut

Info: Loving Hut is a bright takeaway styled restaurant where you order at the counter, though it has several tables where eat in meals are served just as well. Choices are shown on a wall menu and offer a small but diverse range of world food from snacks like french fries and vietnamese rolls to main courses such as spaghetti bolognese and Beijing Black Bean. Drinks include various types of tea, iced coffee and even beer: Birell, classed as a soft drink due to its low alcohol content. There are also desserts including cake. An international franchise of Suma Ching Hai’s organisation, Loving Hut uses takeaway containers made of sugarcane fibre that compost and fully degrade.

As you’d know if you visited in the last few days, the site was down from Sunday.

It’s taken until now to resolve the problem since a complete restore of the database was necessary and there were a few issues on the way.

The only post missing from the site is an entry for the Loving Hut in Brisbane, but that will be recreated this week.

Good to be back – and a relief!

Fiona Kate Barlow (f.barlow@psy.uq.edu.au), a vegan PhD student at the University of Queensland in Australia, and Associate Professor Matthew Hornsey (also of the University of Queensland) are asking vegans and vegetarians to complete an online survey looking at attitudes of vegetarians and vegans to a variety of issues.

The questionnaire also provides a chance to say what you think of vegetarian/vegan groups you belong to, and provide details on your health as a vegetarian or vegan.

The survey’s anonymous and easy although fairly lengthy. However if you complete it you have the option of going into a draw for a vegan cookbook (if you provide your details).

You could win Veganomicon by vegan chefs Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero, Vegan With A Vengeance or cupcake bible Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World.

To take part in the questionnaire, and for a chance to win one of the cookbooks, go to:

https://exp.psy.uq.edu.au/veg

The questionnaire works best through Internet Explorer (as opposed to Mozilla Firefox, for example).
