Information and advice about comments:

  • We ask for your name – handles are fine – to give at the end of your remarks. Avoid the name ‘Anonymous’ or some variation eg anon. For one, it reduces the impact of comments, suggesting business owners made them but didn’t want to say – even though we’ll try to ensure that’s not the case. Also, if more people use ‘Anonymous’ or a variation, it looks as though comments could be from just one or two people when they’re not.
  • We also ask for your email address to weed out fake reviews and allow us to check details if necessary. It won’t be used for any other purpose or shown on site.
  • If you review a place like Iku Wholefood which has multiple locations, please let us know which one you’re referring to.
  • Negative as well as positive reviews are welcome, except in these cases:

1) we find out they’re fake
2) they’re advertising rather than genuine reviews
3) they abuse, rather than criticise, a business.

In these cases reviews will either never make it to the site or be deleted.

To clarify what acceptable criticism is, if you say ‘The service was really bad and they lost my order twice’, that’s fine – provided it’s true. But if you say ‘They’re totally incompetent’, without giving any reasons as to why, your review won’t make the grade.
