Info: As it’s name suggests, Threeworlds Organic Pizza Cafe serves largely organic food and drinks centred around pizza. Rising in August 2008 out of the defunct Pizza Patch, Threeworlds Cafe has the distinction of being Australia’s first vegan eatery that asks you to pay what you feel rather than having set prices. The cafe’s associated with the adjoining Threeworlds drum store, where you can also get a variety of vegan drums and other equipment (not all products are vegan).

Open: Tuesday to Sunday 5.30-9pm.

Info: The first vegan restaurant on the Gold Coast, Tian Ran offers mainly Asian food, with several desserts and a few Western items designed for kids such as ‘fish’ and chips – a crispy delight that also appeals to adults. They sell some frozen food as well – like veg ‘fish’ and ‘beef’ – you can take away and prepare later.
