Info: 20,000 Cows is a landmark vegan restaurant in Lismore. The name comes from an estimate of how many animals have been spared since Vegan Eyrie, its early forerunner. “In 2004, the term ‘Cafe’ no longer appeared appropriate and was replaced with ASHRAM written in Runes to draw more on the original meaning as “sanctuary”… The sanctuary is access to the spirits of these 20,000 creatures.” Hippy styled, 20,000 Cows offers an enticing selection of food from around the world. To get a feel for the range of its influences, you can see recipes by the owner, Marijonas, here.
