Info: Located in the food court next to Central Market, Pure Vegetarian serve inexpensive Asian dishes free of msg, garlic and onion. Along with savoury dishes, they offer desserts and make their own soy milk.

Open: Monday to Saturday 10:30-3pm, 9pm on Friday.

Info: Green & Nutty import and sell soap nuts. Soap nuts are the fruit of the sapindus tree and can be used to wash clothes without chemicals. This is because they contain up to 15% saponin, a natural form of soap. Soap nuts are low allergy, and because they’re the fruit of a tree, a renewable resource. They can also be used as replacement for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. Green & Nutty soon also aim to have a range of saponin based household cleaners available.

Much of their skincare is offered in over 50 fragrances such as Dream Girl, Mandarin and Cucumber, Oxygen and Zen. Helpful descriptions of these are on their website. The business is run by sisters Shane and Gail, who donate part of their profits to animal related groups. Products are not only certified by Choose Cruelty Free, but also BUAV (the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) and the Vegan Society.
