I’m planning my first visit to Australia (I’m in New Zealand) this July and August 2010. I would love to wwoof with some vegans or do work trade (possibly pay a small rent) for a rural, countryside place to stay with internet.

I would also like to be involved with vegan activism/outreach if there are any opportunities for that. If there are any money making opportunities for a 31 year vegan, that would be great. I co-authored Incredibly Delicious: Recipes for a New Paradigm by Gentle World. I was the head chef at The Vegan Restaurant.

I authored Metamorphosis – Poems to Inspire Transformation by Vegan Poet – http://www.veganpoet.com.

My blogspot is The Vegan Truth.

Check out my facebook profile, or follow me on Twitter.

I seek a quiet place to write. I contribute to The Vegan Voice Magazine.

I am an integrity worker, clean, and an abolitionist vegan, who loves country living; not a city person.

Oh, and I’m a sun-lover, so it would need to be where it is warm and sunny in July and August. I guess the north.

Hoping to hear from you for a mutually beneficial experience!!

Successful Melbourne based vegan baking company for sale.

Wholesale/catering trade with strong customer base and web presence.

Ideally looking for someone to capitalise on the bakery’s popularity and take the business into the retail realm.  Demand has been very high!! Selling at low cost — the cost to the buyer is essentially only the setup cost of a retail (or bigger wholesale) space.

Huge profit potential, and potential to continue spreading delicious vegan baked goods across Melbourne!

Yesterday the report A Pound of Flesh was released, featuring survey results about whether Australians are vegetarian or vegan and what their attitudes to animals are.

While the number of vegans in Australia is very low, 99% of people nevertheless say they’re against cruelty to animals. 56% of Australians overall say they’d consider becoming vegan and 54% believe you can be healthy on a vegan diet (as the American Dietitic Association and others confirm).

Even though it’s unlikely Australia will switch to being vegan anytime soon, it does suggest Australians are open to the idea of being vegan and that the number of vegans has the potential to increase significantly in the coming years.

You can read and download the complete report  at http://www.scribd.com/VVSQ

Without any vegan business information you might be worried you’re only going to get $2 a year out of that fantastic vegan burger joint you want to open.

Sure, it’s probably not going to be easy.

But what could your market look like?

See what Australian vegan businesses are around. Find gaps you might be able to slip into. Or a business that can supply you what you want.

Businesses are listed in good faith. If you’re aware of one that isn’t vegan, let us know. And if you know one that should be on the list, click here to tell us about it!

NOTE: Businesses provide vegan products, but may not follow a vegan philosophy. For example, stores may have leather furniture. Despite this, they’re listed because vegans still have an interest in them, and they demonstrate you can succeed in business without using animal ingredients.
